A clip for all mums of multiples(and mums to be) to see

I found on the pregnancy forum and thought people on here would appreciate it too.

As a twin mum to be I am disappointed that there seems very little chance of having a natural birth and my only option is a C section. All doctors and obstetricians should see this clip.

May I ask why your only option is a section?

(Just about to look at clip)

Ah yes... I've seen this clip before. Love birth! Grin

Thank you.

Just because i'm having identical twins. They can't force me to have a c section but have made it very clear that if i try for a natural birth then i'm likely to be putting the babies and me at risk. I hate how all the docs and consultants scare you with the 'ifs' and 'maybes' when there's very little we can do about it. I know they're just doing their jobs and preparing us for what could go wrong but it has had an effect on how much i'm enjoying my pregnancy. Plus worrying about it all will surely do more harm than good.

However, I would never forgive myself if I went for a natural birth (and believe me i'm very stubborn and would love to give it a go) and then something went wrong.

Sorry for long rant! Fingers crossed everything goes to plan and we have 2 healthy bouncing babies at the end.

Okay darling. Thanks for telling me.

So are they going to monitor you to see if the babies are at risk of TTTS? Or are they just going with the assumption that they do? (sorry for the questions. Twin birth is a wonderful thing and I'm always curious to know doctors' thinking iyswim).

Yeah we're having scans every two weeks between our local hospital and Queen Charlotte's who are twin specialists plus hospital appointments with the consultant every two weeks as well. Just to check their growth and for TTTS, but so far all is going well (touch wood). I think all id twins who share a placenta are at risk of TTTS and apparently this risk rises during a natural birth.

Hi again (sorry been really busy and just come back to this).

Thank you for sharing that with me. I'm sure that you've done your research and are happy (or at least happy enough - by the way... you didn't rant) with the decisions made.

Hope you have a wonderful birth.
