Best Twins consultant at St. Georges

Hi ladies
Does anyone know who the 'best' twins consultant is at St. Georges Hospital in Tooting?
I have been told that I will need to labour in theatre just in case and I'm very unhappy about this. I am going to try and speak to a supervisor of midwives too.
Any suggestions?
Thx

Ask to talk to Basky. He is a bit of a legend as far as delivering multiples and keeping everyone safe (I know sets of twins who had TTS, v.v.premature ones etc who survived thanks to his expertise)
But if this is what you've been told you may have to go with it. They always err on the side of caution (with good reason), so whilst it may not be what you want......

Oh and Joyann was the twin midwife when I had mine. She is also legend in that hospital.

yes i am under joyann, but tbh, i am just around the corner from the theatre in the hospital so why can't i labour in one of the delivery rooms? i'm not going to get anywhere labouring inthe bloody theatre

I don't know the exact reasons, but I do know that if they need to get one or both out quickly, they have to do it really quickly. I think that I didn't realise just how high risk twin pregnancies are until after I'd had mine, but I don't want to worry you.
The birth of our twins was just about as far from how I'd imagined having a baby to be as it could be (if that makes sense!) - and the 1 in the tum is now out and by comparison the whole experience was so much more relaxed.
It was one of the things I just accepted in the end but I understand your frustration.

I think it's because of the size of the delivery rooms is too small when compared to the theatres - there are so many people in there when you're giving birth naturally with twins they need the space which just doesn't exist in the main delivery suite. That's the explanation we had at St George's tour on twins recently. I imagine there's a benefit in being in there in there in case of emergency is a factor too - but this can only be a good thing.

Basky is the main man - he's fantastic. We're seeing him a lot at the moment.

Even the High Dependancy rooms are quite small since they refurb'd so I think space would be an issue.
I am under Joyann too she is lovely, call and ask her why? Or you could speak to Samina the twins consultant?
