Key questions from v confused mum-to-be of twins

Found out a couple of weeks ago that I am having identical twins (in November). Its an understatement to say that this was a bit of a shock (twin bit, not pregnancy bit). So I was wondering if anyone could help me by answering a few key questions about early life with twins:

  1. Prams/pushchairs. Do I need a side-by-side pram?

I have a Phil & Teds Sport (have a DD already and thought I would just have one other DC - the Gods are laughing as I type). I was thinking that the twins could go a) initially both in the cocoon if tiny tiny, then b) one in the main seat bit and the other in the MaxiCosi clipped to the front. Once twins are 6 months old think either can sit in either the front or back seat. DH thinks I am dreaming, that this won't work and that I need a side-by-side pram. Do you agree?

  1. Prams/pushchairs. If I need a side-by-side, which one fits through normal shop doors and is good?
  1. Sleeping arrangements. Do they sleep together in a cot from day 1 and, if so, for how long? Am assuming they couldn't possibly fit into the same moses basket? So am thinking that I will get a cot (and a cot separator?) that they share from day 1, then when they get bigger a cot bed to share. Then at about 5 months (?) move one DTD into her own cot bed next to her twin sibling?
  1. Sleeping arrangements. Will it be a nightmare to put DTDs in w DD1 from when DD1 is about 20 months old (ie once DTDs can't fit in our room in their cot)?

Any help here is really appreciated - am a bit lost but trying to work out what I should buy do.

I recommend Ford S-Max Smile.

We don't have a car, so that's one expense/hassle we don't need to face. Thankfully. At some point we will probably get one, but not until we absolutely can't avoid it (we live in central London). Good bye any dreams of something stylish and sleek - hello people mover.

I chose a single pushchair, and I use a sling to carry the twin that seems most bad-tempered that day.

I could initially fit them both in one moses basket to start with, but I would be terrified that they'd kick and wake each other, so I didn't.

Now, I co-sleep, with one on each side, and like someone else said, they latch on in the night!

UPDATE

The Phil & Teds idea doesn't seem to work as the baby in the flat section cannot see out of the pram properly as the Maxi Cosi car seat obscures the view - so she stares at the base of the car seat. So... I have found the Baby Jogger City Select and am going to buy one of those. The only question is whether I get the 2010 model (immediate gratification) or wait for the 2011 model (apparently starts shipping early February). Differences in models explained here:

Improved for 2011
The 2011 City Select stroller has a few enhancements:
The seat has better padding for your child's comfort.
The seat itself has been deepened by one inch.
The seat now also offers more support rather than the prior year's hammock-style seating.

Basically, the 2011 Baby Jogger City Select has all the improvements needed for greater comfort for your child! The rest of the stroller remains unchanged.

agh - have ordered my baby jogger city select, and don't know if it's the 2011 model or not! It arrives on Monday. I'll have to give them a call. Looking at that link bubbymother it looks like a US site, so thinking probably they'll be a while before they're here.
