Getting twins to sleep in same room

Hi Mums just wanted some advice about how to get twins to sleep when they are in cots next to each other.
Nap times are the main problem, I have been using the pick up put down method but how can I do this when both are crying.
Yesterday morning I put them both down for a nap and they both started crying which makes me feel awful when I can only pick up one of them and leave one to cry.I managed to stop my daughter from crying put her down then picked up my son he stopped crying then my daughter started crying . Anyway it ended up with all three of us crying and me just feeling guilty.
I know its a bad sleep association but sometimes i find it easier to rock them to sleep in carseats but they are outgrowing them quickly and then I will be really stuck
.Any tips from twin mums would be very welcome

You might not like this method if you generally feel guilty about them crying but i let them both cry for a few minutes and usually both go to sleep but if one sleeps and the other carries on wailing, i take that one down to the buggy and put in there with a blackout cover on. They cry for about 5 mins then fall asleep but it can be quite hard to listen to the crying sometimes.

I haven't (yet) any experience of getting twins to sleep. But with ds we gave up on worrying about sleep associations - we just used anything that worked. It meant hard work for the first year, when he mostly would only nap in a buggy or car, but it didn't set up any long term "bad" sleep associations. At 2 he happily naps and sleeps through in his own bed. So I wouldn't worry about whether a sleep association is good or bad, as long as it works. Associations will change as they grow anyway. Good luck!

Sit on the floor, with one twin one each leg. How old are they? Mine are 19month and to stop them poking each other I put bumpers on the cot.

Now we have blackout blinds and a routine. I'm moving mine into beds soon and really looking forward to the little joyous moments that is going too bring.

Dummy's, hate them but they worked with one twin. The other prefered to suck his thumb.

I used to leave mine to cry for a few minutes and they would usually go to sleep. Also, there's no harm in getting them used to the other crying. Mine are now 5 and often still share a bed (cute). One of them had a full on night terror the other night and his brother was only a foot away from the screaming and hardly even stirred!
