Her afro was weaved into her own hair and the straight one is a wig she nicked from one of the dressing up games... i dont like that girl she is so sly, teh kind of girl i hated at school that was pretty but a total bitch and would come into school always with some drama to tell and have everyones attention and slag all her friends and play them off each other... i alway think i am being horrible and then she always reminds me why idont like her with her bitchy comments. she is def the kind of girl i would of tripped up on the way out of the canteen and gone "oh sorry.. didnt see you there"

well that'll be an insecurity in her then.

However, if you read the way the BB site has commented on her hair and the way that many people would (no not any of you lovely people... nor am I turning this into a race blah blah debate) are you surprised that she doesn't like it?

Remember when someone described Makosi as beautiful earlier on in the house and Sam made a face of disgust? When what you have is not the "accepted" version of beauty it is not a hard leap to move towards non self exceptance (awful sentence structure there).

she is fake like her hair and put in african accent - anyone else noticed that?

MarsLady · 11/08/2005 15:27

thanks edodgy. Learning all the time

So how is it done properly?
Ideally the hair needs to be five inches long to get a really good result. The hair needs to be prepared, and that means relaxing it first. My favourite relaxing product is Affirm by Avlon, because it works on everyone and leaves the hair silky smooth and fluid. If the client is having colour, we put that on next before the weaves.

Then, when the hair has been dried we plait sections following the contour of the head, and sew wefts of human hair onto the plaits. The skill is sewing the wefts very flat to the head as it looks the most natural. Although the wefts are a fraction stiff to begin with, after one shampoo they are just as supple as the rest of the hair.

How long can you keep the weaves in?
The weaves usually need monthly maintenance, whether it's just to tighten them up or to re-relax the roots. Either way all the wefts are taken out and then put back in again. We never re-relax someone's hair with the weaves still in.

How many times can you re-do the weaves?
It's limitless as long as the whole procedure is done by a professional. To me, weaves are the least stressful and damaging way to extend and thicken hair. A lot of our clients relax, colour and have weaves in their hair all on the same day.

Isn't that stressful on the hair and expensive?
No not at all. Done by true professionals the hair is not stressed. As for price, expect to pay £175.00 for relax, colour, two rows of weaves and a cut, or £265.00 for the same with four rows of weaves - as far as I'm concerned that's good value for amazing looking hair.

How long does all that take?
Between two and three hours for the works depending on how many rows you have done.
What's the maintenance like?
Be careful not to get too much oil on the weaves, apart from that it's real hair so you can treat it accordingly.

wow she looks SO different with her real hair! i wonder why she doesn't like it. i think it looks ok.

RTKangaMummy · 11/08/2005 17:15

what is the maximum time cornrols can be left in ?

I plait mine sometimes in tiny plaits but have to take them out to wash it every couple of days BUT mine is just thick brown hair

I think Makosi is incredibly beautiful (except when she wears yellow eyeshadow - eugh), no matter what I think of her personality. I haven't seen her 'bare-headed' yet, but it always struck me as very jarring that she was so sensitive about her hair, when she's normally such an in-your-face self-confident person. That's why I thought at first that she must have had alopecia.

Maybe revealing her 'true' self in time for the final night is part of her game plan.
