Inappropriate comments from grandfather figure

My mother in law's partner is Italian and has recently made inappropriate comments about my baby's body (baby is 7 months old). He said that she has a "nice bum" on two occasions and also that you can tell she's a girl because she has "little boobs". He's also said that because she eats so much, we need to be careful she doesn't get fat and she'll need to go to the gym when she's older if she continues eating the way she does, she has literally just started eating solids and really enjoys her food. I don't know how to tackle this sort of behaviour and comments about her body make me feel really uncomfortable. Is it usual in Italian culture to talk about physical appearance so much?? Even for tiny babies?!

I wouldn't allow my child within a mile of that creepy pervert, and I would be telling my mother-in-law exactly that.

I agree

Although I'd make babies father get on board and then do the communication himself

Never leave her alone with him or let him see her naked. So many men are paedos this sounds like major red flag

Regarding the references to boobs and her bottom, it's inappropriate behaviour & I don't agree with it at all. Is he fluent in English OP?

I live In Italy, talking about weight is perfectly normal here, including about babies & children, usually to a person's face, even a child's, and but it's not taken with offence nor meant to be an insult, it's just a cultural difference, that doesn't work in the UK. My Italian family told my UK friend when she was visiting here that she needs to diet, and so do her kids ( I agree there are overweight, but I could never tell her that) MIL couldn't understand why my friend was so upset, she said it with the best intentions so that serious illness can be avoided in the future. Italians, especially here in the north are obsessed with weight, Italy wide they are obsessed with health, especially their livers from birth to death. Yesterday I was out with In laws for dinner and I have lost count how many comments were made about the weight of other diners. They were all doing it!

Get your husband to tell his mother that under no circumstances is her partner allowed anywhere near your baby ever again as he is behaving like a paedophile with his disgusting comments. He also needs to tell her to raise her standards considerably and ditch this guy or she won't be seeing her grandchild again.
