Hi Everybody

I'm 24 Indonesian and my husband is from australia. We have a 3yo boy.
I'm quite lonely here in london, I hope to make some new friends.
I'm a stay at home mum now. Just quit my job after 2mths work as my earnings & paying for the childcare doesnt leave me with much. And balancing work & family life.. arghhhh I'm having trouble with it!
Maybe someone out there has been in my position. What to do?

Hi
I am (nearly) 10 years older than you, but I am in London too. I am in East London, Forest Gate. Our family is multicultural. My husband is Sri Lankan, I was brought up in Africa and I am half English/ half 'Ceylon Burgher'. I lived in Mexico for a year. I also don't work...I don't consider myself English, but I do consider myself a Londoner!

hi all,

i'm also from east london, so a bit far away from you. I have a son who will be two in Dec, cant believe it..time does fly. Im 28 but am told i look very young for age...like 18 or so lol. Although i don't mind that as i am getting older now.

Hello...
Thanks for the replies.
Nice to meet you all.
We're in central london- paddington, hopefully moving to brighton in a couple months time.

First of all, although I know what you girls mean, what's "dd" & "ds" stands for anyway?

To ellieorange; what an interesting family line. YOu must be very beautiful. Brought up in afrika, did you get the accent?
I was in California USA until I was 5yo, and I think I'll be stuck with the accent for life. I'm hoping I'll pick up the british style real soon..yeah right

Well its 1pm now and guess what? Im doing nothing! ITs no surprise really, its no different from my every other days. My typical days would be in between parks, shops, cooking, cleaning and finally waiting desperately for my husband to arrive home at 6pm. We go to todd groups once a week but maybe Im just going to the wrong ones. Believe it or not, Nobody seems interested to make friends! Or maybe is just me. Maybe they're not interested as I might look & act younger than my age. For god sake, Im 24 but when I go out with my 20 yo sister, people would always say that she's the mum! What the??!!
Weekends are my fav. We always have great weekends as we always try to go to some place new.
It'll be great if the days would include going out with friends & our kids for cup of coffee and gossip like what normal people should be doing. I have to admit, I'm just lonely and Im not used to it yet.

Anyway, whats your typical day as mum? And what would you like to add to it?

Hi
There is an acronym list at the top of the page ds and dd mean darling son and darling daughter. I live in London(N)and gave up work for the reasons you mentioned. I am quite lonely too and can completely empathise.
I met a lady who's daughter is 24 and can't relate to any Mum's at the local groups either as they are middle classed thirty somethings. Most of the Mum's at my son's nursery are very unfriendly and can't even raise a smile. My husband walked out on us two years ago so my routine is not as structured as it used to be. Brighton is nice. Have you thought about doing a course with creche facilities? I go to coffee shops on my own. Just to get out. If I could get a green card I would jump on a plane to the States tomorrow. All my relatives live there and I am born and bred Brit(mixed parentage)and I still don't get the lifestyle!

I'm in East London - Walthamstow. Indian (with a smidge of African thrown in), and DH English. I love how multicultural London is, but i really hate how unfriendly it can be. Why are people so self-protective?
