Dark body hair; Indian/ Irish girl

I'm wondering if anyone has any experience of this; DD2 is 3 and beautiful, she has her dads very dark hair and eyes. However, partly because of this, and partly I think because I tend towards the hairy side myself, she has a fair bit of dark hair around her shoulders and down her spine. She also has very thick eyebrows, which she definitely got from me!
Now this obviously doesn't bother her, and it certainly doesn't bother me as I've never been too worried by that kind of stuff.
I do worry however that she will get comments when she gets to school age, especially in the summer, so I suppose I'm looking for advice on handling this without affecting her self confidence. Any advice?

I think it would totally depend where you live and how many other children are the same. my DD1 is has hair around the base of her back and hairy forearms for a 6 year old girl, but both of us being from 'hairy' cultures, we werent shocked. When we were living in the north east I was soooo scared of what they would call her, but since we moved to east london before she started school, EVERY little girl in her class is like that to a degree!!!!!!!
She has never mentioned it, so I wont bring it up with her. I think as long as shes confident in her self, it wont matter too much! Every child is different, and thats what makes them special!

My DD is like this, although has British parentage. She has lovely, thick wavy dark hair, but the only negative is that it is not confined to her head. She was an almost furry baby, and much of it just never fell out - she has quite thick hair on her back, arms and legs. She's now nealrly 6 and to the best of my knowledge no-one (child or adult) has ever mentioned it despite the fact her classmates are almost all blond and hairless.I have worried a bit what will happen when she's older, and have thought about looking into laser treatment if it's a problem for her when she reaches her teens and feels she wants to do something about it. Needless to say I have never mentioned it to her (or anyone else in RL).

yeh, i dont think its ever a problem until someone points it out!

My DD3 is white/pakistani and has the same at 17 months, even a hairy neck lol! I have sometimes wondered about it and if it will be a problem as she grows, but I guess we'll cross that bridge whenw e come to it. My advice is not to make an issue of it and risk your daughter getting hung about it needlessly :)
