Debts of £400 a month [shock}

Once bills paid etc, shopping/spends money is £350 approx.

Thats on one wage, but we are lucky in that we live in army housing and only pay £190 a month rent.

nutcracker · 10/08/2005 17:33

We have debts of erm £350 a month and once they are paid anything left goes on food.

hercules · 10/08/2005 17:35

550 debt (300 is student loan)

Caligula · 10/08/2005 18:03

Spare = £0.

Debt = steady at £2000 for about the last year. (Interest free!)

charliecat · 10/08/2005 21:32

Debt = £25 a month on interest free credit card. Plus £50 a month into savings to pay off balance when interest free period is up.

Plus last month we got ourselves to the point of being £700 overdrawn. So this month we have drawn up a really tight budget and look like paying off at least half the overdraft.

QueenOfQuotes · 10/08/2005 21:42

Currently have ALL of last months billed unpayed - but once DH starts his new job on Monday we should catch up to around £800 debts a month..........

hence the reason I'm looking for part time work to fit around his new job

expatinscotland · 10/08/2005 21:43

Spare = 0

Debt = steady at about £3000.

Mortgage? PMSL! That would require actually earning a living wage.

QueenOfQuotes · 10/08/2005 21:45

oh and if we're talking about total debts (excluding mortgage - which is a £110k) we have around £30k

spursmum · 10/08/2005 21:45

MY debts were £8000! every spare penny went on clearing them. At the end of the year I will have just my credit card left(£3000!!)

Mirage · 10/08/2005 21:51

Charliecat probably £100-£200 left after bills.

bonym · 10/08/2005 21:54

No debts, including no mortgage (as of 2 months ago - whoopee!)

BadHair · 10/08/2005 21:56

I earn £530 per month, part time, plus £110 child benefit. My outgoings are £300 servicing credit cards, £280 per month shopping, £80 per month diesel. Even my rubbish maths tell me that this does not add up. My clothes are hideously old (t-shirts from pre-ds1 and he's now 4) but now and again I think "sod it" and buy something, either in a sale or from Asda or Tesco, on a credit card. I have to to look presentable for work. Kids clothes and shoes come out of food budget or from grandparents.
Dp pays for mortgage and bills, but I do the food so I feel I contribute something.
And I'm in this mess partly because of the IR with their Child Tax Credit cock-up.
Sorry, this caught me on a bad evening - had bank on phone again.

charliecat · 11/08/2005 13:16

Had a 234 quid cc bill fall throught the door this morning, nearly choked.

anchovies · 11/08/2005 19:29

Fio2 · 11/08/2005 19:29

I have a 140k mortgage on a 250+k house and no other debt

Lmccrean · 13/08/2005 14:57

no debt and no savings (well, i have money left over at end of month, but it gets spent on things I need - like a new bed last month..and in 2 months im getting new sofa
