A few of you my know my DH was made redundant at the end of March.
He is not getting any jobseekers allowance becuase he has not paid enough NI contributions and he is not getting income based jobseekers allowance becuase I earn £111/week which cancels it out.
The ppl at the job centre told me to ring the tax credits line and inform them our income for the current tax yr will be lower than the previous year and I have done this but I am worried we are going to be massively overpaid.
They asked me my income which will stay the same - (£5772) and they asked me what DH had earned since April which is £0.
So they will base our award on £5772 so I am presuming we will get the maximum?
BUT what happens when DH gets a job and our income goes up? Of course I will ring them immediately and let them know but do they average out the your money throughout the year eg.
April-June we are entitled to £120/week as DH is unemployed
01 July DH gets a new job and we are now entitled to
£40/week but as they have already paid us £1600 odd quid then we are only going to receive less.........
Am I going mad?
Does anyone know what I'm going on about??!
ps. we will actually get more tax credits once DH goes back to work, not less as we will get the childcare element of WTC.
HELP!
