To Spain to stay with at mate's parent's villa.

Does he need to stop his claim and re-apply, or is there a suspend function?

He's supposed to be signing on weekly as part of some sort of review.

He's disabled and not very clued-up about it all.

Thanks!

He's not depressed but like DH he has a lot of learning difficulties.

He was made redundant from Lloyd's and just went onto income-based.

Thankfully, he still lives at home so doesn't have to worry about HB/LBA.

This trip won't cost him anything much as he got a cheap flight, the lodging's free, and he finally sold a rather exhausting games collection for spending money.

I thought he'd just have to tell the Job Centre, but he's worried he'll have to do teh entire application over again.

He does have to tell them as you can't receive the benefits whilst out of the country unless you are going abroad for a specific job search related reason (which they will want verification of).
However, there's no law against going on holiday - you just have to tell them before-hand and fill in a very simple and much, much more straightforward form (JSA4RR) when you get back. He should be seeing the disabled employment advisor who should help him with this. I hope he has a good break
