csa and tax credits

Hi ,

I have been reading a few threads on here and it seems that tax credits would affect the amount of child maintenance you pay. Dh recently made redundant and has had to take a much lower paid job till he can find something better, so am trying to find out how much we would now need to pay.

Ive used the calculator online and it says you have to enter dh income - it doesnt say this includes tax credits, so can anyone confirm that is does? When you use the calculator to work out your income it asks for income, tax and ni you pay , again no mention of tax credits. Also we get tax credits paid to both of us, as we both work , we get a higher amount because I work too, so technically the tax credits is both of our income not just his, so if it has to be included do we half it first? Just to clarify we get ctc not working tax credits - I dont know if this makes a difference.

If anyone has any experience of this I would be grateful to hear back , we dont see / spek to ex and im sure once we write to inform her of the income change she wont believe us, and will call the csa, so I would like it get it right first. Thanks

AFAIK it is just his income that is taken into account.
