Reduced Items in Boots...WWYD?

Dd was given some money for her birthday and I had a look in Boots today on the reduced rail and found some bits which I spent hour an hour or so thinking about. Anyway after making a decision, I bought two pairs of pj's, one dress and one top all of which had red '1/2 marked price' stickers on. I still managed to spend £23. Not too bad, but I do search out bargains if I'm buying anything because money is extremely tight.
Got home and I cut off the swing tickets and then noticed that on the pj's(one pair were a gift so I cut that off too)there were 3 red labels stuck one on top of the other. 1/2 price, then 75% off original price, then 1/2 price. I'd like to know if they can do this? can they really stick a 1/2 price label over a 75% off sticker, display it and sell it like that? Even reduced to half price they were £6 a pair. Should I go back and question this?

WWYD?

Maybe the 75% off one was a mistake, which was why it was covered up?

I think they are allowed to do this. The 75% may have only been for a day or so, or may have been a mistake.

It wouldn't do you any harm questioning it, though. You may get some more money off!

Of course they can. Prices can go up as well as down. It may well be that someone stuck it on there by mistake though, as Bertie suggest - I would actually imagine that is more likely, it seems an odd pricing strategy otherwise!

Well I know they can refuse to see the items if they are priced wrongly, but the tickets are not hard to remove, so I think they should've removed them before effectively putting the price up.
Maybe I'll contact HO.
Thanks for your input though

I used to work in retail and we were told we were not allowed to go this, you can put a sitcker over the top which reduces the price but not one that increases the price. Maybe give consumer direct a call and check this with them?

Thanks Fluffy.

call boots head office customer services and explain that you feel you were overcharged. I am sure they will credit you back.
