How does it work again- someone damaged my car this AM I was stationary-they were trying to squeeze past me- I have let my insurers have all the details-I know I have an excess do I have to pay that even though it wasn't my fault? Can't remember it's about 20 years since I had to make a claim-

If the other party admits liability, their insurance will pay all costs, if not and you are fully comp, you would pay your excess.

TBH I don't think the other party even has to admit liability as you were stationary at the time - the other driver would be incredibly hard-pushed to make out that the accident was your fault if your car wasn't moving! In which case, they are fully liable for all the costs and you shouldn't have to pay a penny.

A neighbour wrote my car off last year by reversing into it while it was parked outside my house. His insurance company took care of absolutely everything (whilst my insurance company refused to refund me any money from my policy despite no longer having the car! ).

I hope it all get resolved quickly for you.
