How does this work? Do WTC stop it automatically, or do we have to tell them if the nursery is closed? Ta!

It depends how/when you pay your nursery fees. If you pay monthly DD, an average amount for the year, WTC wont stop just because nursery's closed.

We are paid monthly, when we told them about DC's childcare we were asked how long the are in nursery for, they average out the payments over the year.

I get mine weekly. Maybe they still average out the year's amount and pay weekly, so it won't matter if it's closed for a week? (hopeful of having a bit extra cash emoticon)

You have to tell them if your childcare weekly cost goes up or down by more than (I think it is) ten pounds at any time. I still have to pay even if dd does not go so depends on what you have to do. If they are closed and you do not pay then yes you need to tell them.

actually it is only if the amount drops for 4 consecutive weeks or more

fishie · 03/01/2010 21:53

whatever you pay is evened out over 52 weeks even though your child isn't there all the time. ditto wtc.

if you think of it any other way therein lies madness.
