Just looking at the site...

1 million winner for this month is described thus :

Prize Value £1,000,000

Value of Holding £10,008

Value of Bond £5,000

Purchased Jun-05

Correct me if I am wrong, but does that mean the winner bought their bond in June, won 5008 pounds in July and then 1 mil in August ?

That makes for a rather good Summer, doesn't it !

SaintGeorge · 13/08/2005 14:11

No, it just means that the bond that won the million was only recently bought. The holder already had £5008 pounds worth, which they might have held for years.

Still a damned good summer though with that win

my FIL bought some bonds for DS and DD for their Christening present (!!!), DS has won twice - £220 & £75 both of which have been put into a savings account that I opened for him (and my daughter !) when they were born

just wondering, dd1 doesnt have child trust fund, so u think bonds may be a good option for her? at least that way she can have some money or investments when she turns 18.

Misdee, the child bonus bonds would be better than premium bonds if you're wanting something vaguely akin to the CTF.

misdee · 13/08/2005 16:19

where can i look into them purpleturtle?

purpleturtle · 15/08/2005 09:13

They're National SAvings & investments too - ask at the Post Office
