Ipod and digital camera got broken by freak wave hitting us a few weeks ago, and insurance co have told us we need to take them to a company who can confirm they are beyond repair. Ipod, not a problem as Apple shop will do that for us if we take it in.
However, everywhere else wants to charge us £25 for the camera. I feel quite annoyed that as well as our excess we have to pay someone to condemn it, when it clearly is broken, you can see the water damage in the screen.
There is nothing in insurance policy to indicate we would be required to have items deemed not repairable, and fund this if required.
Before I phone the insurance co to ask them, can't we just send it in to them, they will be able to get their bods to see it does not work and will not work. or is it dependenton insurance co?
