I have a few Lloyds shares and have been offered 244 for £93.76. I haven't got a clue about this. My Dad bought these for me when I was a child.Anyone know anything? Shall I buy them?

thanks

There was an article about whether or not to buy in the Guardian last Saturday (or the one before...) Can't remember what it suggested you do - I have been offered a handful for £38. I probably will, because it's such a small amount.

I simply can't decide because I odn't know anything about it.

Hi - only just noticed your thread - I've posted a similar one .
It is difficult to advise but if you can EASILY afford the £93 then I would be tempted to buy. The share price you will buy at is 38p you should in time make a good profit on this (in theory at least). However the share price can also go down ,as I well know !! I used to work for the bank & DH still does . General opinion amongst his colleagues is that it could well be a good deal. Good luck if you go ahead - it is a bit of a gamble but not too much of one for you IYSWIM !

thank you. I fancy a gamble, just got a clear mammogram and feel all reckless.

Hi
I have a sharedealing account on line and they allow me to see existing shares to fund the new ones, therefore, I can't loose. I.e. i have been offered 1236 new shares, at 38p each, my share dealing account will see 700ish shares at 66p to buy the 1236 shares.

Therefore, at the end of the day I will end up with 500 more shares at the cost of £5 share dealing fee.

It might be worth asking your stoke broker (or whoever you would use to buy these shares) if you can do the same thing.

Hope that made sense.

Good luck, us mums could do without loosing any more money on these shares!!
