Tax credit help for my parents who are pensioners

My nephew lives with my parents and has done since he was 12, we have only just realised they probably qualify for tax credits and he is 16 now!

Does anyone know if it is worth them applying, mum is 63 works full time with a wage around £15000, dad is 66, retired and he gets pension of £125 a week and mum also gets pension of £300 a month.

Doesn't look like you can apply online so wondered if it was worth me getting them a form to fill in. My nephew will be going into further education in Sept, will they still get any tax credits then? Will they get any back dated?
Thanks

They can only backdate for 3 months. On that income they'd certainly get something and the child qualifies until 19 if they are doing A levels or similar (but not Uni)
