I've been divorced for 3 years and claim IS. Yesterday XDH came to my house with a letter from DWP address to me, but at HIS address (I've never lived there, and he's only been there a few weeks). He had opened it (which is reasonable seeing as we have the same surname, he just assumed it was addressed to him). The letter says that my change in circumstances????? does not affect the amount of IS I receive and goes onto detail what I will receive and when.

Im really about this as I don't want my ex knowing about my financial circumstances, or having my personal details.

Im also really as I haven't had a change in circumstances, have never lived at the address they sent the letter to, and ex does not claim any benefits so they shouldn't have his address in the first place!!!

Well, the letter for the change in circumstances at this time of year usually means your child benefit and child tax credits have gone up due to the new financial year. I used to get one every year.

As for sending the letter to your ex, well that is out of order and I would write and complain!

Don't be fobbed off with them saying it was a mistake either, they should not have your exh address in the first place!
