I had a boy too, Harry

I'm fine now but felt like I'd been hit by a train for some time after an emCS! Love having him around though, he's my third and last (sob)

How do you find life with 3? I found going from 2 to 3 MUCH easier than going from 1 to 2. But I won't be having 4!

How old are your others? My DD is 9 and my DS1 has just gone 5.

Hi MamaG, how spooky is that as we are already calling Harrison Harry Great minds think alike and all that!

Glad you are feeling better now. I had a CS too but it was elective due to various medical problems. Be VERY careful, my DC3 was supposed to have been my last. In fact, come to think of it, DC2 was supposed to have been the last as well

Mine are DS1 16 this summer (yes, I feel VERY old), DD1, 13 this summer going on 21, DD2 aged 2.5 and then Harry. I'm finding it much harder now than I did before. I'm a SAHM at the moment due to the circumstances of where I'm currently living (not much call for divorce lawyers in Saudi Arabia) but when I had DC1 and DC2 I was working pretty much full time and studying law and managed. Life with 3 was certainly easier as the eldest helped out so much (DD1 can't even look after herself) I'm dreading the summer when DS returns to the UK to do his A levels (he foolishly wants to follow me into law

So are you still on maternity leave? I'm desperate to get back to work but realistically it will be another few years. Am very proud of myself for managing 4 hours CPD this week though

Right, off to bath DS and DD (obviously the younger ones as the eldest can manage themselves) then off for our first night out in what seems like years! Hope to catch up soon x

I'm still on mat leave, but have been made redundant - I'm quite glad though, I was part time before baby was born, but short hours over 4 days a week with a 50 mile round trip every day. PITA tbh! I will probably return to work when Harry can start nursery. It does feel strange though, to not be going back!

yay, and then there were three!

Shall we have our very own female laywers thread or is that discrimination? Maybe we should ask flowerybeanbag to come over and join us and advise

babybarrister thats why (IMHO) women make better lawyers as we are good at multi-tasking, time management and balancing everything
Had to grin at your comment on the other thread about certain DJ's. Had me racking my brains to remember who is at GF CC now. I used to issue there many years ago when the AR pilot scheme first came in so as to get the Form E instead of the nasty affidavit of means we used to do. More recently I used RCC and HCC and there were some pretty quirky DJ's there. Had a few children matters at Epsom too and again, a rather 'odd' DJ there. Wonder if we know some of the same people? I used to use GF Chambers all the time.

MamaG, that is appalling, my employment law is a little rusty but I didn't think they could do that? You should ask flowery for some advice.
Know what you mean about the travel. At my last firm in Surrey I was doing a 4 day week and the travelling took around 1 to 1/12 hours each way. Not really cost effective when you take into account the cost of petrol and rising nursery/school fees.
Make sure you keep up with your CPD, I've made sure I've done that, if only to keep the light at the end of the tunnel on and kid myself that I could go back soon

am racking my brains to remember the female DJ's in that area but maybe things haved changed a lot since I was at GCC. I preferred HCC as really liked the DJ there although funnily enough most other lawyers hated him.

Were you around a few years back when there was a crazy old DJ surname beginning with E who was at Epsom?

Ref your voice, a friend of mine has had problems with her throat/voice for the past few weeks so I will ask her what she has tried.
