I have a job in a busy restaurant (constantly moving and carrying stuff) and one sitting at a desk. I have done something to my back and it is killing at the restaurant job, can i get a sick note for this one but not the other?

well you will only get one sick note but its you who chooses how to use it, so you dont have to tell the desk job people you are sick! not sure about legality of this though!

Don't think this works

I don't see the problem.
The GP writes a note saying that you are unable to stand for long periods of time and you give this to one employer but not the other.

you aren't sick though, just have abad back so you would need a DR to "prescribe" no lifting etc, you don't need the time off (do you?)

OP sounds as if she is fit for one job, but not fit for the other.

Go to your gp and ask for sick note for the restaurant. If you have a bad back you can do gentle exercise ie walking, but lifting etc is a def no no.

I broke my back but was still able to work as I was working in a clinic environment. Had I still been working on the wards, I would have had to be signed off sick due to the nature of the work.

Have got a gp appt for tomorrow. Been to the restaurant job tonight and am in agony now so definitly going to ask. Mumof monsters in a restaurant there is not much no lifting things you can do if you are a waitress but office job is just sitting advising people over the phone so dont need to be off from there.

I would have thought the problem was the claiming of sick pay, which is what a sick note entitles you to. However, I'm sure there is a way around it.

The sick note should cover both jobs. If you didnt tell the desk job but claimed SSP from resturant yet was still working you could land yourself in hot water.
