not for me - for someone else. And it's all hypothetical as they may not need it anyhow

  1. If you're fired from work (ie sacked) can you claim JSA while you're looking for another job?
  1. If you're single and over 25 with no dependants which level of LHA are you eligible for. The person in question is currently living in a (rented) self contained house that they don't share with anyone else. And we can't work out from the LHA website whether they qualify for the 1 bedroom with shared facilities, or the 1 bedroom selfcontained.

You should be able to get JSA, but it will in part depend on why you were sacked. You can end up with a sanction (ie period where you can't get money) if the DWP feel that your loss of job was in part or whole self-inflicted.

Entitlement to contributions based JSA will depend on NI record being up to date.

An over 25 should get the self-contained rate I think.

well if they do get sacked they're going to be taking it to an employment tribunal as basically the reason for being put up for gross misconduct is based on a technicality rather than them actually doing anything "wrong".
