if you buy from m&s next, boden, clarks, and the occasional captain tortue piece.
for girls and boys. and your boys dont live in those football kits that cost a fortune. only have the odd england or premier league shirt for a birthdy.

I dont, but looking at the sites, tops in m&s and boden are £10-£15 and trousers in m&s £10-£15, boden £20.

If you bought 10 outfits twice a year, thats about £300, then add three pairs of shoes in clarks at £30-£40, so thats another £100. Coat twice a year at £30 - £40, another £75.

About £500??

Racingsnake · 11/01/2009 22:48

Everything dd has was bought by someone else then passed on to me / the second hand clothes shop / the charity shop. The only new clothes she has ever had were from Woolworths and Adams. Now even that is gone!

Racingsnake · 11/01/2009 22:50

So probably about £20?

Racingsnake · 11/01/2009 22:50

No. that's silly. £50.

nancy75 · 11/01/2009 22:53

over £1000 i would imagine

stitch · 11/01/2009 22:53

thanks lm. i guess i had overestimated then.
so about fifty a month. per child. but i think it would be fair to say that girls get more?
racing, we do have a fair amount of hand me downs. i am always happy to accept, and always pass on as well. but as they getolder, the quantity of fstuff handed down seems to have dwindeld. mainly i think because the stuff gets more wear out of it, as they tend to wear them for longer, and so tend not to be in a condiition to hand down. iyswimn.

Have two children ds 6 and dd 4

I spend about £300 a year per child (split evenly over summer/winter) plus school uniform at about £50 per child (can double up some unisex things such as sweaters/p.e kits as older child grows out of it.

Recently a friend gave me all of her boys outgrown clothes so am not intending on buying ds any new summer clothes this year.

2 dd's,and probably spend about £75 a year on clothes & shoes. Most things are hand me downs, charity shops or car boot sale bargains. They generally have a new pair of boots and shoes per year, but I generally get them in the sales.
