SOunds like it would be.

onebatmotherofgoditschilly · 01/01/2009 11:33

Isn't that what water-cannons do?

I think it would depend on whether it was to prevent a crime or not, colditz.

MaryMotherOfCheeses · 01/01/2009 11:34

I'd have thought it could be if it causes harm

hercules1 · 01/01/2009 11:34

Is that colditz?

warthog · 01/01/2009 11:34

what are the circumstances?

LadyMuck · 01/01/2009 11:36

It would entirely depend on the context wouldn't it?

solidgoldstuffingballs · 01/01/2009 11:40

Technically, yes, it is assault. But you'd have to be a bit of a wanker to insist on pressing charges.

TotalChaos · 01/01/2009 11:41

I think pretty much any sort of unwanted physical contact would technically be an assault. But whether police or CPS would be interested in following up a cold water squirting may well be another matter.....

Coldtits · 01/01/2009 11:43

yes, it's colditz

I don't know, I haven't done it, I just wanted to know.

tipping a bucket of water on someone in the street? Squirting someone with a water pistol? Tipping water on teenaged offspring to aid removel from squalid pit bed?

LOL, yes, go and water pistol your son. We'll come and visit you in prison.

purepurple · 01/01/2009 11:48

in your defence you could say it was accidental, they couldn't prove otherwise

Reallytired · 01/01/2009 11:56

I imagine it is probably illegal, but surely a lot of people who do that sort of thing are well below the age of criminal responsiblity. Ie. they are six years old and been given a super soaker by a daft relative.

Still, would the police be that interested?

Tortington · 01/01/2009 11:59

i would imagine so, i have thrown a glass of water over dd on occasion she is free to tell the police if she so wishes. i might get a stern telling off and that would really hurt my feelings

SalLikesCoffee · 01/01/2009 12:14

Well, Heather Mills got away with it. Mind you, she probably had an insanity defence...
