Does anyone know please, if one gets divorced in England, can the court order the matrimonial home sold in another country? Or are their hands tied? A friends lawyer has said they won't, but is this true, is there any case law she can check out? Basically, they're from a country downunder, but have been living in Europe and now England. Their matrimonial home is rented out, but now they're getting divorced, her H is being an arse and refusing to put the house up for sale, even though that is the only money her and her 2 kids have.

TIA

Thanks for replying bloss. It's across the ditch. She is on the deeds to the house. i think she is struggling with getting an English court to rule he has to buy her out/sell. So he just drags his feet. So she needs something legal to force him to do it. There is added complication of her inlaws having a vested interest.

Thanks BB.

I think the issue has been the estate agent won't put it up for sale unless both her and her H sign the papers.

I'll encourage her to get legal advice where the house is.
