Anyone know when the letters are meant to arrive telling us what we get this year???

I thought it would be here by now - they screwed up big time last year, and I have no idea what I will be on come April and need to work out money!!

No point in phoning the "help" line after previoous experiences with it!!!

I'm going to ring my mp and get these bunch of idiots sorted out! thanks for the advise - wish me luck

rogan2001 · 04/04/2005 13:53

Do they send out new forms to fill in, we're £2200 down in wages from last year, are you supposed to ring and tell them, or do they send a form for you to fill in with new amount.

Henda · 04/04/2005 13:56

I just called, they said not to ring back until Thursday!!!

mummy2b · 04/04/2005 15:01

The Inland Revenue are a bunch of t&^%$rs, shoot first and ask questions later if they think you owe something, wait a year for it and get it wrong if they owe you. Aaaaaagh (I am currently being pursued by them for some tax I do not owe, hence the rant!)

As I cannot face being riled by having to speak to someone there and their website is not working can anyone enlighten me as to what the threshold is to be eligible for Child Tax Credit? (household income I mean). Ta

mummy2b · 05/04/2005 10:16

Just had a look at the inland revenue website and it should be up and running by wednesday 6th april, hopefully then they can sort out all of the problems they have caused everyone (T^%$ERS!)

We had major problems too - long story, but happy ending eventually!

We had been waiting for WFTC since September they owed us over £3000!! Finally got it a few weeks ago after many wasted calls to the helpline (claim stuck in the system!?!) many calls to Preston where they don't even have a queuing system it just rings and rings then cuts off, I faxed them, sent letters, went to a walk in centre, basically got nowhere - so frustrating,
it puts such a strain on everything including relationships, just waiting for the post every day .
I think the thing that got it sorted was an email to the adjudicator stating exactly what had happened and asking for compensation (up to £500) for stress. They replied to me after about a week saying they agreed I had a case against them and that they had forwarded my email to them and if they didn't respond to get in touch again where they would follow up. I heard from the Tax office within a couple of days and received Giros for the full amount a few days after that.

I wish I'd emailed them earlier and not bothered with the phonecalls, all they did was frustrate me even more - more often than not resulting in me crying through anger Good luck getting the money you are all entitled to!

I hope mine is sorted out as quickly as yours was bubblerock, i have had nothing but problems with my WFTC, CTC and claiming the money for my childminder whilst i was at work. I have just typed a letter to the complaints department, do you think i should send this and also send a email to the adjudicators to try and get things sorted quicker? The problem has been going on since june 2004 and now they have tried to make two large payments to me and both have failed, and they have recently wrote to me saying that i owe them 5000 quid when they are the ones who owe me??? Contacted them straight away by phone and the bloke was rude and said that the information they had was incorrect and it was being forwarded to the research department (again for the 5th time in less than a year!).
I have had about all i can take from them, i thought i was the only one having problems with my claim but there is people everywhere waiting for money of IR, F%$£ING TO£$ERS!!!
