Payment protection insurance on loans: making claims for mis-selling.

Does anyone know anything about this or has anyone done it? Someone I know is working for one of these companies who will apparently claim 'compensation' for people who took out a loan and were told they had to buy the insurance with it or they wouldn't get the loan.
My acquaintance is a nice chap but a bit of a hustler (ie he wouldn't cheat me but I wonder how likely this is to work..)

If you did want to do it DO NOT go through a third party. You would get very little back.

If you do think you have been mis sold payment protection or insurance with a loan go to moneysavingexpert.com and follow MArtin Lewis advice first.
Not everyone who took out insurance with a loan is eligible for a refund.

Thanks, will do it that way. I think it is at least worth the cost of a stamp - the worst they can do is tell me to get lost, after all..
