£4250 goverment get a lodger in without paying extra tax does this affect tax credits?

Does anyone know? I know you can get in a lodger and not have to pay tax over 4250 bvut does this affect tax credits.

I dont want to give them a call as they have fucked everything up recently.

I'd have thought so as it changes your income.

It's not included as income when they calculate tax credits according to this link www.hmrc.gov.uk/taxcredits/other-income.htm

Scroll down to Property Income - it says, don't include income from rent-a-room scheme.
