If one is receiving 80%childcare through Tax Credits...

...does it make any sense to claim Busy Bees Childcare Vouchers? My employer offers them but I don't get whether I'd be better or worse off or no different?!

There's a calculator online somewhere that tells you whether you're better off using salary sacrifice or tax credits....shall go hunt...

It depends on whether your childcare costs more than the maximum assumed for tax credits. In general if you are paying more than £175 per week for one child or £300 for more than one, then it is worth using tax vouchers to cover the costs above that level. If your childcare costs are below then you shouldn't use vouchers as you lose both salary and tax credits.

If you are recieving 80% then you are likely to be worse off with Busy Bees.

Go to teh hmrc website and use this calculator. Model it with and without the Busy Bees vouchers (don't forget Busy Bees vochers don't count as income - and there value don't count towards the childcare costs either).
