I'm not even sure if it is called the Sherrif Court.
I need to raise an action against 2 big companies, and I would appreciate some advice how to go about it

do you mean small claims?

saltire · 16/11/2008 12:49

Yes, samll claims, although I am talking about £12,000 so not sure if that is classed as small claims! Inn Scotland they are done through the Sherrif court, I wasn't sure what the procedure was for England

Not sure of claim limits these days, but larger claims should be issued through the High Court. Then, if you are successful and the other side doesn't pay up, you can enforce judgement through the Sheriff's office (like the county court bailiffs but with greater powers and usually a darn sight more successful). Does that help?
