Most effective way to complain about mail mis-delivery

Could anyone suggest the most effective way, that will have the most impact, to complain to Royal Mail about them constantly delivering our mail to the wrong addresses?

A number of streets around here have similar names - not the same, but similar and with different postcodes.

Our post can end up either with the near neighbours or at the same numbered house several streets away.

We have complained to Royal Mail before and they replied to say "they will take steps to ensure it doesn't happen again".

This week a catalogue went next door instead of here (no big deal), but today a credit card bill with all the usual personal data (and details of our debt) went to another house where they opened it in error.

I'm furious - not with the occupiers, they brought it around with an apology - but with Royal Mail.

It can't be an isolated problem, so as well as complaining again, I'm going to contact the community council to see if we can find other people having the same problem.

What else should we do to kick up the biggest stink possible to get this sorted out and rectified properly? I don't know what the hell is going wrong - is it a system failure or lazy posties who just don't read the addresses properly?

TIA

We get everyone else's mail! We complained to Royal Mail Customer Services and threatened to contact postwatch and a miraculous cure appears to have been found. Try that!

We have complained and complained to RM but they don't care

There is a road with a similar name to ours but a totally different postcode. We often get their mail. Ours is also delivered to the next road to us which is completely different.

More worrying is that 2 separate things I've ordered from the internet didn't arrive. I personally think it's thieving posties but RM didn't want to know.

08454 04 05 06 - call these guys and tell them you need help. It's the new govt consumer advice service and they know all the ways of escalating complaints!

Thanks all...I'll call the number in the morning.

I phoned the local councillor who's going to put something in the local newsletter for people with similar complaints to come forward so they can take it up on a wider basis.
