Dispute over RRP

Ok bit of a strange one...

Ordered some Night Garden books from the Book people last week - States clearly on the website that the books (12 of them) have a RRP of £79.88 - and that they are available to purchase at £9.99 thus saving £69.89. Grand. Ordered them. Arrived today.

Have opened them up to have a look and they arent the hardbacked books as expected, but very thin paper type ones - have a look at the back of them, and each one has a RRP of £3.99 - £47.88 in total.

Now I am aware that I got a good deal, and TBH the books are fine for ds who's only 18 months.. but I still feel a bit miffed.. I have spoken to them - they are going to pass my comments on and someone will "hopefully get back to me but we are very busy as its Christmas ya know"

Anyone any ideas where I stand with this?

Well, what is that you want? A refund? Are you going to send them back, or just an apology and them to change it?

You need to know what it is you are after...

These ones? They are still advertising them at the price you said, which is off if they are not worth that, but it does say that they are paperback.

rrp is an arbitrary figure, not a legally binding one, so theoretically they could state whatever they like as its value and discount. However as books are preprinted with the figure and perhaps they have misquoted for the price of hardbacks or if described as hardback and you were sent paperback you may have an argument. What outcome do you want though as it is hard to see what you stand to gain by complaining further since they are still good value.

You are right, its just pee'd me off as today has been rubbish (appointment to confirm 3 wisdom teeth need removing).

They arent going to refund any of my money, and I did get a good deal... if not as good as originally thought.
