Not sure how it has been done, waiting for the bank to call me back.

Argh - I want to shake him and I have never met him! I react in a similar way and know how even more twisted up it makes me get

NorbertDentressangle · 01/11/2008 14:01

BTW twinsetandpearls I hope my link hasn't made you more stressed -I posted it to show you how common these scams are and that you're not to blame as 1000s have been scammed this way.

I also wanted you to see that you will be reimbursed by the bank if thats the case.

twinsetandpearls · 01/11/2008 14:04

No you have not made me stressed. I asked the bank for an extra overdraft allowance and they said at the moment it looks unlikely.

bastards

FlameNPumpkins · 01/11/2008 14:10

are you ok for food? We do a food shop on a weekend, so if we suddenly had no money on a saturday we would be completely screwed

sameagain · 01/11/2008 14:12

See twinset, that's where I'd start shouting and demand to speak to someone who could sort it out now. I 'd also give it, I've got small DC's and no money for food....(even if it's not quite true)

TheFallenMadonna · 01/11/2008 14:14

How has the money come out? Is it all in one lump, or lots of withdrawals of similar amounts? We had £500 taken from our account over two days in 10 lots of £50, buying phone time IIRC. We did get the money back fromt he bank, but we had to prove we weren't where the money was spent IYSWIM.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 01/11/2008 14:14

Let me know if you need anything, can always jump in the car.

So sorry and angry for you.

solidgoldbrass · 01/11/2008 14:15

Poor you. I once had an account frozen because a payment for £30,000 was taken out of it (I had never had more than about £500 in the account at any one time) and a friend who worked in banking said that sometimes it's some idiot not paying attention who sticks a transaction on an account where one digit is different from the account it should be going through (ie your account ends in 111 and the proper account would be 112). The bank will sort it out. Best of luck.

twinsetandpearls · 01/11/2008 14:17

That is very kind 5 go mad, luckily my sister has not paid her rent on time, at least I am hoping not, so we should have some money next week. The bank will stop anything else from coming out.

I think the bank want to check it was not me before giving me an ovrdrat, our finances have been rather erratic due to the fact our living costs have doubled and my pay has gone down.

how are you doin?

SaffySpook · 01/11/2008 17:05

This happened to me last Friday. It was pay day and they completely wiped me out plus overdraft. I didn't realise till after 10 at night and I was hysterical on the phone to the bank.

The following day I managed to increase my overdraft for a month (but the b*ards have chardged me £25 for the privilege).

On Monday I then received a phone call from the bank, I thought it was to do with the fraud, no, it was someone regarding me going over my overdraft I have never gone over my overdraft - I just wish they had been more observant when it came to seven transactions going to an betting company in one day.

However on Thursday the money was put back in my account.

It wasn't a bank with the initials H**C?

twinsetandpearls · 01/11/2008 20:08

The same has happened to me, wiped out what was left of my wages, my rent and bills had gone out thank god and gone into my overdraft.

I am with N***t. Luckliy the rent owed to was from my sister was late so she os going to put that in dp account.

I am very stressed about it though.

Happened to me the other week - they emptied my account and went over the overdraft limit. They had been buying lots of train/tube tickets in Italy by the looks of things.

It was all sorted very quickly, but I felt sick at the time. I was lucky - it wasn't the joint account where the mortgage, bills come from, thank God. This was Lsb.

Hope it gets sorted soon.
