HMRC Commissioner Appeal hearings - any experiences?

Very long story, but HMRC made a decision on my behalf which is being disputed, invoking the appeal process by HMRC Commissioner.

I am being represented by HMRC lawyers, but wanted to know:

  1. Is there right of further appeal?
  2. Roughly, how many hearings go the way of the defendant?

Also any tips any one can give about HMRC hearings would be very useful...
