And breathe!! Our family of four were very fortunate to go on holiday this year, we had worked VERY hard to make it happen and it was a very tight scrape. we booked our flights with easyjet and the journeys themselves were flawless!!!

HOWEVER when we booked on line they took the amount for flights twice. Now we so didnt have the money twice to spare! and we borrowed the shortfall. Easyjet firstly suggested we had actually booked double flights and when put straight said eventually after much pain and a hundred calls that it was a technical error and would refund in 25 days! which is a ludicrous amount of time! when day 25 came no money arrived. they said it was another technical error and would take another 25 days!! we are not well off at all and this has caused loads of stress and put us really in the proverbial. Im soo annoyed and feel powerless, can i do anything?

yes you should be able to get some compensation. Did you pay by credit card? If so, get onto your credit card company and they should chase on your behalf. If out of your bank account and you went overdrawn and had to borrow, you should be able to seek repayment of any charges and interest you have incurred. Write to them again and insist on immediate refund and interest and compensation

Personnally I would send them a last letter stating the facts and telling them that if they don't refund within 14 days you will ue them. If they don't get back to you by the deadline, lodge a small claim on money claim online. It cost £30 but if you have communications from them where they admit it was a technical problem, you would have good chance of success.

Alternatively you could contact the OFT and your local citizen advice bureau for advice.

easyjet are members of the TTA = Travel Trust Association. A trade association in the travel business. One of the few airlines that if you book direct gives you financial protection of if the company ceases trading (unlike XL flights). So ...

they also have to adhere to a code of conduct to ensure customers receive the best service, by being part of the TTA. So please look at the TTA's website.

When you next speak to easyjet inform them you will will be in contact with the Travel Trust Association about their conduct and poor customer service if they don't get on with it.

easyjet are wankers and will try to screw you at every opportunity.

Think you need to fight this - follow the above advice.
