So, DH was forced to quit his job yesterday. I can go into too much detail, but they messed him around with regards to his flexible working request (we had both been working PT and sharing care of DD) and we are going to pursue things through the courts, but that is by the by.
Until now we had both been working more than PT, me 24 hours him 27, bringing in about 1.5 times a FT time job. Now, in the meantime I am going to have to go back to work FT but even so, that still doesn't cover us. DH is going to have to find a new job that is either in the evenings while I work FT to tide us over temporarily, and eventually hopefully find a PT job that gives him enough hours and pays us enough to go back to how we were.
In the meantime we are going to be a bit screwed financially. I am bust making a list of things we can sell, e.g. a fridge and a freezer we have in the garage, baby stuff, potentially one of our cars (both old bangers), car boot sale. I don't really know what I need really, just some advice on saving making quick money, soothing words, advice on finding PT jobs for DH, how to get through this without fighting and feeling resentful towards DH for working in such a shitty job in the first place and having to go back to work FT.
We live in rented accommodation and that is the bulk of our outgoings, but even moving is going to cost us more money than we can save in the long term and we really don't want to have to move, so that is worse-case scenario. Cheap but still healthy food ideas? We have a 15 mo DD. Aaarrrrgggghhhhh, we are fucked!
