To us it means we will probably have to up sticks and move to the U.A.E. (dh is in the construction industry and already works there one week every month) England has stalled completely.. U.A.E has more money than it knows what to do with and is build build build.

Hrumph

I'm self employed & have lost 2 major customers in the past 6 weeks. One is losing his job,so can't afford me anymore & the other relies on investments for her income, and is also cutting back.Add the Tax credit cock up which resulted in me now not getting any payments for the next 4 years & I'll be £250 a month worse off by October.

I'm just praying that I can pick more work up-I've never known it so quiet before.

It means instead of using our deposit to buy a house, we are paying off more of our current mortgage, which will actually mean we will be better off!

It means I chose my shops depending on whether they have 5p off per litre, and if none of them do, I go to Morrisons.

It means trying to get DH to turn the hallway light off more often (it has 8 bulbs in it)!

My business is going bust - slowly but surely

It means a 50/50 chance of being the sole breadwinner in 6 weeks time, and having to go through the family budget to work out where costs can be cut.

I earn what I consider to be a pretty good wage with not too bad a mortgage but with 1/3 on the mortgage 1/3 on food, petrol etc 1/6 each on bills and our personal spending money there is only really one place that can be cut. That leaves £20 a week for personal spending which covers going out, clothes, hobbies etc. And there will be nothing left for savings, so no holidays or replacement of worn out appliances.
