Has anyone else heard of this?
I received this form a friend:

You can request a pack either by phone on 01702 307695 or via their website: www.claimsinformationservice.co.uk

You are eligible to claim £529 allowance if:

  • You have a child born between 6th April 1986 and 5th April 2003
  • You or your partner also worked & paid tax during 2002/2003 financial year (April 6th 2002 - April 5th 2003)
  • You or your partner also earned between £8,000 and £34,500 in the financial year 2002/2003
  • The child also lived with you for all or part of this financial year

You are eligible to claim £1049 allowance if:
-You can answer yes to the above questions & your child was also born between April 6th 2002 - April 5th 2003.

NOTHING TO LOSE!!!

If your claim is successful then 20% of the amount goes to the CIS. All of the above is explained in the pack.

When you return your back in the stamped addressed envelope you will need to include a separate letter giving permission for the CIS to contact the Inland Revenue on your behalf.

PLEASE TELL AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE - CLAIMS MUST BE SUBMITTED BY 31 JANUARY 2009.

Whaddya reckon????

Hi - I just called my local office. They told me my tax code was the basic code 461L for 2002/2003.

I asked if that would have been right and she said it probably would have been?! Then she told me to write in.

So, if I was a part-time worker earning about £9000 with a young child, separated so XH couldn't have claimed it, I am hoping my tax code was wrong and I will get something back!!

windyweather · 15/09/2008 20:30

Will try again tomorrow, both dh and my tax code where 461L.
Me hoping too suprise

Confused now! Just chased up with local tax office and have been told a letter is on it's way to me asking for further information.

I don't know what they could need but I don't have my P60 or anything. I know I was earning just over £700 a month that year so should be eligible for it. And my tax code of 461L. Also, my hubby had left so he couldn't have claimed it.

But, on looking over previous bank statements, it says WFTC for Feb and March 03 and then just TAX CREDITS for April 03 onwards. I didn't claim tax credits for a year after XH left, I didn't know I could . I didn't claim at all until January 2003 and I do remember received some form of tax credit in my wages as well as in my bank.

Oh help, is this tax code completely separate from that??!!!

Oh, this is worth trying, ds1 was born March 03 and we didn't get anything for the first year after his birth. Fingers crossed!
