Would I be crazy to make this move

I have a house no mortgage valued at 1.25 million
have seen a perfect house for exactly the same amount
but when I’ve worked out the costs of moving it’s close to 100k
Both retired have defined benefit pension s me and husband but this would seriously eat into our savings. Have me a shock as to the cost of moving tbh
is it crazy to do this?

It’s not your fault that property prices in London have gone crazy. I didn’t baulk at your house price. I don’t agree with the comment of renting your house out, these days it’s difficult to get the back, moving back in is a valid reason, as is selling, to evict someone but you’d still have the physical moving costs. As someone said - hotels, camper-vans are a great solution although not homely. I’d talk to your daughter and find out her plans. I moved into a house with an annex with my mum which meant we both had our own space but were there for each other as well. It wasn’t something we’d pre-planned just a house that had come up when I was looking for the forever home with my daughters. Unfortunately mum passed away 4 years ago very unexpectedly and I now run the annex as a holiday let which means I can still afford to live here.
