Can I share my Disney+ TV with my brother?

My brother is in a different household and is a single parent. His little boy loves Disney and I have Disney+ at mine. I know you’re not meant to but has anyone shared their Disney+ account with a different household? And is it an issue? Would we be able to get away with it. 🙊 If I set him up a little profile.

Yes you can do it easily. I share all of my tv subscriptions with the kids (all adults in different households). I know they say you shouldn’t do it but I’ve never known anyone get caught.

OrangeMochaFrappuccino · 07/06/2026 16:54

I’m in the East of the UK and my DD is in Yorkshire and she shares mine.

ChasingRainbow5 · 07/06/2026 16:54

I use my sister’s, so yes.

Lomonald · 07/06/2026 16:58

He just needs your log in details to add another device, my Dds share Disney+ they live in different households

LittleBearPad · 07/06/2026 17:00

Yes but you aren’t meant to

MigGirl · 07/06/2026 17:01

Yes but be aware that depending on your subscription level you can only have it logged in to x number of devices. For example, mine is 3 devices only so as DD uses it on her laptop at uni we can only login 2 of the TV's at home.

You can for a cheaper amount get an add on subscription with Disney +, so another household can have their own login. So that is another way to do it.

Lomonald · 07/06/2026 17:01

I think you can legally do it for a fiver extra there is an additional membership thing, but most people just share.

DaisyChain505 · 07/06/2026 17:02

Yes you can. You’ll have to add it as a shared household account and occasionally he will be asked to input a code sent to the account holders email so he’ll have to ask you for that.

ChessieFL · 07/06/2026 17:02

I think Netflix are trying to crack down on things like this - presumably by tracking IP addresses to check location or something? I don’t know if Disney has or will start doing something similar.

Just check how many devices you’re allowed on your account and whether allowing him access might restrict your family’s access.

GrannyAchingsShepherdsHut · 07/06/2026 17:03

Yes, you can do it officially and pay a small increase to add another household with one user.

I used to share with my DB but they changed the security setting and every time I opened the app it asked for a security code they'd emailed to him, they could tell we were in different locations. We've paid the extra and are now above board and it works fine.

ThereAreOnlyShadesOfGrey · 07/06/2026 17:30

God yes.

But do be aware that the self righteous will be along shortly to tell you that it’s theft, fraud, and your children are destined for a life of crime 🤣

LittleBearPad · 07/06/2026 17:32

If you/he bank with Lloyds and have enough paid into your account monthly you can get it free with Club Lloyds

Figgygal · 07/06/2026 17:34

My mum used to share mine but they picked up the different IP addresses and she got locked out

SandyHappy · 07/06/2026 17:38

I have a problem with mine sometimes when watching on my tv at work, you can say you are travelling and it sends you a code to your email, but it only lets you do it x amount of times before it refuses.

It's working again for me now without having to do that, but not sure for how long.

Pe55yP00 · 07/06/2026 17:41

I piggy back onto my DD for Disney she pays the extra so we can. In return I do the same for Netflix for her.
It's an extra cost, we tried but couldn't wing it without paying up.

This happened to me too.

Anyusernamewilldo8963 · 07/06/2026 18:41

I share it with my DM who is in a different country (both in the UK) have done for several years now and never had an issue.

Definitely set up a different profile though as me and DM also share All4 where you can't have a separate profile and we are interested in totally different things so it makes the "we think you would like" recommendations a bit useless for me but great for her lol it can also be annoying when we do (rarely) want to watch the same thing and have to wait for the other person to watch it first so they don't lose their place

BeeCucumber · 07/06/2026 18:43

I share mine with my niece - it costs £5.99 per month.

I might have to look into this with my son at some point - probably makes more sense after the summer though
