DB pension - when does inflation linking kick in?

I posted this on the higher education staff board but didn’t get much of a response so thought I’d try here.

I left my job in HE a few years ago, in 2018, but accrued a fair bit in my USS pension previously, which is a defined benefit scheme.

I understand the DB entitlement is linked to inflation, however on the online portal the amount mine is worth has not shifted since I left the scheme.

I would have expected the inflationary adjustment to be reflected in the value on the portal.

Does anyone have any insights as to why it’s remained static? Is it only adjusted for inflation at the point where you actually take the pension? (still a long way off for me!)

(To add, I have written to the scheme to ask but didn’t receive a reply)

I think you have to log in , look at Benefit Calculator and My projection. My minute pension doubles when I do this .

And you can change it to see the effect of taking more or less tax free amount.
