CASH FROM POST OFFICE

Will a post office let me withdraw £100 in fivers? Or if not, £1 coins? In the good old days I would have gone to a bank - ha ha!

If they have them available - yes.

Ours does but doesn't like it. They say it reduces their cash flow availability for local businesses. We do live in a village with no banks for a long way though. So it may be different if its a bigger PO.

My local Post Office or bank will allow me to order small denominations in bigger quantities in advance and that is easier for them than if I go in without notice and take loads of fivers or £1 coins.

Thanks all. I went to a local PO - the more senior member of staff said they didn't have enough fivers to give me what I needed but his less senior assistant said she had plenty in her till, so I managed to get what I needed (forty notes - I realised I had miscalculated my original figure). However, the senior chap was so miserable and sarcastic that I won't be going there again!
