Universal credit- Routine review

Hello all,
I've had a message in my UC journal today regarding a routine review, They just asked me to confirm all my details were still correct and make any changes if needed. I have completed and submitted this. They didn't ask for any bank statements or other documents, May the still ask for these or will that be it completed? As my username suggests I'm nervous and I have no idea why!

When I had my review I think it was asked for after the initial ID checks. Then a phone call was scheduled and a few questions about my circumstances were asked. It was perfectly fine and I get why they are doing these checks. Try not to worry, it will all be fine.

Are you sure it was a claim review and not just a commitments review? You have to do commitments reviews every so often but it’s just accepting that you’ll comply with whatever they ask. A review you’re talking about would give you things in your to do list with uploads for ID and bank statements and then an appointment one you’ve done it. The phone call took about 10 min and just asked me what a few transactions were, money my mum paid me etc. they’re not scrutinising you, they just want to make sure you don’t have undeclared income. The people on the end of the phone don’t want to be doing it either imo!

Thanks both for the replies, It said at the top 'routine review' and asked me to confirm I'm still single, who lives in the house with me, children etc, confirm i'm still caring for someone and confirm my earnings and savings. Nothing about sending bank statements or arranging a phone call

This just sounds like a commitment review as opposed to the full review where you would usually have two calls and be required to upload capital and savings evidence. Although I would keep an eye on messages following up.

Yes i think this is just a commitments review. It’s done now.

They seem to be getting back into a swing of regular reviews which largely disappeared during, and in the aftermath of, the pandemic. At sounds in your case they're wanting to check they're up to date with your circumstances and will have an opportunity to check there are no changes.

Where they want bank statements they're looking for undisclosed earnings. This might be from cash in hand work or trading stuff on Ebay or Vinted beyond disposing of your own stuff. They are also after any irregularities around capital.

They're not bothered with anything to do with spending. If you've pi**ed your entire months benefit against a wall that's your lookout and not their problem - except I guess if there's a duty of care where a claimant evidently needs help.

All UC claimants will have at least one full review within the next 18 months.
