How much should a 35 have in pension?

I’m 35, I have a house in the south east with an about 300k on the mortgage. I’m in the nursery years so outgoings are high currently. My income is good now (about 125k) but for a long time I was only about 40-50k while renting in London so didn’t contribute much. How much would you expect me to have in my pension? How much did you have at the same age?

I had a similar background earnings wise.

I'm 42 with 2 small kids... I took breaks during my mat leaves and paid in maybe 10k? Pa annum both those years
... but tried to make up for it oncr back earning...Now i bang in full 60k every year and have 450k in my pension.

At 35 I had 70 or 90k max.

I should be able to retire anytime after 52.l according to my ifa....

The deposit and house are the main thing- youve done that. Now you build the pension

Pension is way more tax efficient than over paying your mortgage.
