It was 1.14%. Eugh, this is going to hurt isn’t it. How things can change in a short period of time in the grand scheme of things is so frustrating. Our payments are likely to be the highest they’ve been even though we’ve lived here 10 years.
what have been peoples payment increases recently?

Moving from a 2.2% in may but I’m hoping they’ll be a few more rate cuts this year

Exactly the same. 2.2 until may. Dreading it

Mine went from £800pcm to £2k pcm 2 years ago. We are just about to remortgage as looking at £1400pcm. Just debating whether to do a 2 or 5 year fix

I would do tracker

Thank you. I need to do some research. No idea what type of mortgage to go for. Won’t be fixing for 5 years again that’s for certain!

You’ve had 5 years of the lowest mortgage rates which are totally out of the norm and you think it’s unlucky they are now higher? You are looking at this backwards. Rates today are much closer to the long term average and the norm.

why do you dismiss fixing for 5 years again? If you are expecting rates close to 1% again you are going to be continually disappointed

We’ve re-fixed for two years at 3.84%. Decided not to pay off the lump sum in the end as I can keep it all in our ISAs at 4.3% so we end up slightly better off. We will reevaluate when it comes to an end.
