Does anyone use sprive? I just came across it today how is your experience is it worth it?

ive been using it for the last 2 weeks. I had a bit of an issue getting the Sainsbury’s app to accept the voucher. In the end it worked but it took me ages! Has anyone else had issues with online Sainsbury’s? Amazon seems easy enough to do though.
Ive got a code if anyone wants one.

Wells37 · 23/02/2026 20:11

T1A8Z3YP this code gives you Sprive plus.

Early days, but Sprive has been brilliant so far. It really is a painless and very simple way to overpay your mortgage, and because you buy gift cards to use at retailers, you can still click through TopCashback and Quidco and potentially get cash back too.

The gift cards you buy can be for the exact amount you need, so if your shopping is £49.57, you can buy the gift card for £49.57 and no pesky few pence left languishing in a gift card graveyard to be forgotten forever. (You can buy for more too and the gift cards stay in your Sprive app, easy to find when you need them).

Check the gift card you are buying is suitable for your chosen shopping method- most seem to be usable online and in store but Tesco is in-store only. Just something to be aware of.

I am so impressed with how easy it is to link and overpay your mortgage- once linked, it’s literally a single click and the balance is sent directly to your lender. I have been sending as soon as I have over £5 as this is more interest saved on the mortgage. It’s mounted up with just normal shopping for me. I absolutely love it.

If anyone wants to try it, my referral code is WWM8EG91

Link to download the app is Sprive

I’ve just started using this

Apologies if this is a silly question. How does it work if you make regularly monthly overpayments? So for example, if I overpay £100 a month, but earn £20 on Sprive, do I have to reduce my overpayment to £80?

I pay my lender the same amount every month as a regular payment (includes an overpayment). This amount is static because I’ve specified this with the lender. You probably have a 10% overpayment allowance which £100 per month extra will be nowhere close to breaching. Phone your lender and tell them to keep your regular payment static even if you do additional overpayments. This is what will reduce your term over time.
I transfer from Sprive whenever I have over £5 as every day it chips away at the mortgage interest and this will compound over time to be far more beneficial than it would be in my pocket!

Wow I have recently discovered sprive and I love it.

so easy to use, sooo many retailers on there. I’m already on track to save 5 years on my mortgage term.

we use it mainly for our food shops and train tickets each month but also for Amazon and lots of other shops too.

if anyone is interested it’s super easy to set up and simple to use. If you use my referral code you also get a little bonus too, and will be entered into a draw to win your months mortgage payment - B3L966B6

Early days for me too but been great, I’ve paid about £58 off my mortgage so far with the cash back from my everyday shopping. Also really easy to do the overpayments from your bank as and when you can afford.

I finally decided to sign up to Sprive (because the cashback rates look great) but realised that my lender isn't even on there?!

Toooldtocare25 · 06/05/2026 07:59

I tell everyone about this , have mainly used it to get top up shopping. Wish Lidl would come on board 🤞😃. Here is my code NRZRIXSZ if anyone wants to sign up as we get £5 each. I need 4 more people 😊 I’ve paid £200 off already and on my next £80 so if anyone has any questions 😁

Toooldtocare25 · 06/05/2026 16:40

Thank you to those that have signed up with me, hope you love it as much as I do. Don’t forget partners can sign up too on your joint mortgages so you can now earn a bonus too. I love the bit that says how much Interest it would pay if you overpaid
just remember all, it’s not a bank so don’t keep money in there forever make sure it’s gets put on your mortgage or withdrawn if you need to just in case 👍

Tequilamockinbird · 21/05/2026 21:02

Sprive is great, I’m hooked! Have been using it for about 6 weeks now and already paid £100 off my mortgage just from every day coffees, grocery shopping and eating out. All of which I’d have bought/paid for anyway, so was over the moon to £100 back from it. I’d definitely recommend signing up. If you use my referral code then I think we both get £5.
