Bank account switch

I’ve switched bank accounts using the switch service to Nationwide. I’m told all payees will be transferred over along with direct debits. Do I need to tell my employer my new bank details? Google and the bank both say no it’s done automatically but I want to be sure.
Has anyone done a bank account switch who can advise please?

It’s all automatic.

I've just done the exact same thing but updated my bank details with work anyway, just to be on the safe side. A friend transferred some money into my old account (which I closed) and it automatically went into the new nationwide one.

You'll need to tell your employee yes, nationwide can't tell your employer where to send your pay. The switch service covers Direct debits etc. If you don't and work pay you into your old bank if will be transferred to your new account but that's not forever.

Thank you everyone. I’ll inform them to be on the safe side

We I’d tell my employer anyway

Yes, I would tell them. Your employer might be running payroll early because of the time of year, so don't put it off.

I moved to Nationwide and everything was automatic, although I told my HR dept as they are notoriously useless so I wanted them to be told more than once!

It was the most straightforward process ever tho, don't worry.
