Cancelling old store cards

pussinbootswithclaws · 09/06/2008 22:10

I've recently printed off a copy of my credit report off Experian and noticed that I still have 2 store cards I opened in 2003 and 2001 respectively.

There's no debt on either account and I haven't a clue where the actual cards are or my account numbers. I have the contact address for each company on the report.

If I write to them with details of my name and address then (since married and moved house), the credit limit and date of last payment would it be enough information to request the accounts be closed or do I need to know the account numbers?

TIA

that would probably be more than enough information- its good that you know the credit limit and last payment because that will make 'security' easier

Thanks, will add to the list of people I need to write to!

Will do.

Just spotted a credit card I forgot I had (opened for the 0% balance transfer when I was doing the kitchen and never used again), which I will have to cancel also.

However I'm pretty certain I have a replacement card they sent me in one of my many 'safe places'
