OK so get a letter this morning saying my landlady is going to court next month to have my flat repossessed. Where the hell do I stand?

How stressful for you! This was in The Guardian on Saturday -- might be useful??

They did mention in the Guardian that repossession means that all rights such as notice period and the right to your deposit back are lost. Sorry. I'd start looking. Quickly.

brighton council

what to do if threatened with homelessness they may be able to work with your landlord to keep you housed a little while longer - they certainly will be able to advise you on council policy and give you some options

thanks NSF

RnB any news?

edam · 11/06/2008 08:15

Custy's fab as always but also, if you know who her mortgage lender is might also be worth approaching them to see if you can stay in the property - they might think regular income from rent is better than a sale at auction when property prices are falling?

I did see the Guardian article but I thought tenant deposits now had to be kept in a special scheme ie the landlord doesn't have them.
